Congratulations to Frank Onyango from Stillwater High School! He is receiving an award for being in the top 10 individuals for the Personal Finance Challenge. He placed 8th out of 340 students across the entire state of Minnesota!

Frank is a senior in the Entrepreneurship, Travel, and Social Media Marketing course and will be attending Century College for the business pathway program.

Last Wednesday, Northeast Metro 916 held The Annual District Art Show. Artwork of various mediums were displayed from nail art, metal work, photos, paintings, ceramics, and more from students across the district. There was even a cookie decorating table as a fun activity and sweet treat! Thank you to the staff who set up the art show and everyone who attended as well. Seeing the 916 community come together to celebrate the students' imagination and effort makes this event truly special.

Career and Technical Education prepare students from classroom learning to future careers. Karson Reil, a student in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, needed a change of direction in school and life. Karson decided to enroll into the EMT program due to a growing interest and now has a career-focused education, which has supported Karson to create pathways for the future.

This month is Career and Technical Education Month! At Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center, students are empowered with opportunities to discover their purpose and to develop skills. and passion necessary to pursue their goals in education, community, and industry.

One project that's currently happening is the building of saunas. Students from the Architecture & Construction Engineering Program have been busy working on this project and we look forward to seeing them all built!

Last week Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center held their 916impaCT Information Night! Staff, student ambassadors and industry partners shared their impaCT through engaging activities and program information. Visitors could also participate in a bingo activity where they visit a program, learn about them, and win a prize when they earned a bingo!

Northeast Metro 916 Career and Technical Center was featured in an article by Press Publications. They welcomed Jessica Weaver, an instructor of Auto Body Collision Technology at Dakota County Technical College (DCTC), into their Automotive and Auto Body Careers classroom. It was an exciting opportunity for students to learn from a new perspective and ideas. This collaboration with Jessica Weaver helped students grow, connect, and made learning even more meaningful.
